As our school season kicks off, it’s time to make sure your young musician has the right instrument to start the year with. At The Upper String Shop, we only offer high-quality violin, viola, and cello rentals—expertly maintained by the owners and violin makers who truly understand string instruments.

Unlike online rental companies, our instruments are hand-adjusted, properly set up, and ready to play right out of the case. A well-set-up instrument can make or break a student’s early progress, sound, and overall enthusiasm for learning.

Located in the Reading and State College area, we’re proud to be able to serve local school programs and families who value craftsmanship, reliability, and top notch service. Our affordable rental rates start at just $18/month for violins, and we offer full support for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades as your student grows. We also offer different levels of rental instruments to work with any level of playing!
