For too long, students, families and teachers have had to rely on big-box rental programs that don’t have the proper training on setup, service, and sound. At The Upper String Shop, we’re changing that — one instrument at a time.

What Makes Us Different?

Unlike major retailers, we’re not sales reps — we’re luthiers, the owners and the operator’s. Every instrument we rent or sell is high-quality and professionally set up in-house for tone, comfort, and playability. No mystery setups or repairs. No VSO’s(violin shaped objects). Just honest craftsmanship and responsive service from people who live and breathe string instruments.
